Arms Race - 6 named to ASG

Six pitchers from the Gens and Caps have been selected to represent the Wolff Division in the ACBL All-Star game, which will be held at 6 pm on July 22 from FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, the site of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws.

Generals pitchers selected as all-stars include Joe Sheets (Columbia), Bryce Mangene (Penn), and Hunter Curley (Arcadia). The Capitals will be represented by Matt Rowe (Rutgers), Tony St. John (Babson), and Garrison LeGros (Mercer County CC).

The game will air globally on our Livestream channel. Our John Colavita will be joined by Eli Fishman from the Jersey Pilots on the broadcast team. Generals management will be part of the in-game interviewing crew, helping to produce features and content for the Youtube page and this website.

Sheets started his Gens career by striking out the first six batters he faced in a start against the New York Phenoms on June 13, finishing that game with a team-high 11 in five innings. He impressed at our recent Pro Day with a fastball topping out at 93 with heavy two-seam action. Curley has been the team's most consistent starter - only the second Gen in team history to toss a complete game in back-to-back starts, without topping 80 pitches in either. Mangene leads the staff with 20 K's and a 3.15 ERA through yesterday's games.

Rowe, who graduated last month from Metuchen High School, has topped at 94 both in-game and as part of the Pro Day. He'll be joined by Caps closer LeGros and his knee-buckling curve ball, as well as St. John, with his fantastic 17-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio and deadly offspeed pitch.

Position players are going through the nomination process and will be named soon.
